Giveaway: EatSmart Precision CalPal Scale

This week has been full of bad news – first all the pipes burst in my townhouse in upstate New York, causing major flooding, and then I got word that my grandmother passed away 🙁 So forgive me for not yet writing up my New Year’s resolutions – hopefully I’ll get to that next week.

In the meantime, I wanted to share about a new scale that can help you stay on track with your healthy eating goals for 2018. The EatSmart Precision CalPal Scale not only shows your weight on an easy to read blue LCD screen, but also estimates the calories you can eat per day to lose weight (or maintain your current weight). I reviewed the EatSmart Precision Choice scale last year, and this is a nice upgrade to see estimated calories as well as estimated BMI on the screen.

The bottom number goes back and forth between calories and BMI.

When you set up the scale, you input a few factors about yourself – your age, your gender, your height, etc. These are used to help in the estimations. For households with multiple family members, the CalPal scale automatically identifies who you are based on proximity to previous weights, which is a neat feature rather than fiddling with settings on the scale to figure out who’s who.

  1. New Years Resolutions are tough – this year I wanted to do something positive, so I choose to always eat food I enjoy.

  2. I don’t have a resolution this year! I’d like to quit hitting my snooze button but I can’t seem to quit it So sorrry about your grandma and your NY apartment! Not a great way to start the new year!

  3. I’m so sorry about your grandma (and the rest of your rough week)! My resolution is to learn to say no more often…because that will allow me to do all my other resolutions, like sleep more, reduce stress, etc.

  4. I’m so sorry to hear about your grandmother. My resolution is to try to spend less time on my phone and more time mentally present with loved ones.

  5. What an amazing scale! Mine is so outdated compared to this! My New Year resolution is to run a 5K under 30 minutes. A few years ago, I ran 30:27 but haven’t been near that time for several years. I’m ready to get back to it and earn a new PR!

  6. I’m trying to be more intentional with my time- less screen time and more intentional interactions with family and friends!

  7. No specific resolution, but I’m aiming to be more grounded instead of always trying to control outcomes and being worried about everything.
Though, running a marathon is back on my list!

  8. I’m so sorry to hear about your grandmother. My new year’s resolution is to do something every day, even if I have to fit it in at night.

  9. About 18 months ago I found myself heading in the right direction w/ my specific nutritional balance. Life got in the way and I’m getting back on track, without setting goals too high. Wish me luck.

  10. My resolution is to get back on track with workouts. I think that this would be a great piece of equipment to have. Fun fact – I don’t have a scale!

  11. I have come up with a few but the one I am most excited about is getting back in low carb eating and planning my workouts!

  12. I think we most of us have the goal of getting in shape or eating better so my goal is not do that but instead to make more of a effort. If I can make it to the gym just a few times, I’ll be doing better than last year.

  13. My New Years Resolutions are to spend more time with my family & to also keep improving my healthy live style I have been following the last year. I have lost 100 lbs an would love to lose another 50 lbs this year.

  14. My resolution is to drink a minimum of 2 glasses of water a day in January, Feb 3 glasses a day, and so on. also want to write 1x a week minimum.

  15. Christine A Sturgill

My New Years resolution was just try to exercise at least 5 times a week and eat better and drink more water.

  16. First. Thoughts are with you…
My goal for 18 is go close my diastis recti gap from having my son 17 months ago. Plan to do it by his 2nd birthday.

  17. My NYR is to go camping more (family bonding, memories, no electronics) and to make better choices when it comes to both me and my family’s diets.

  18. My resolution is to be vigilant in foods my husband eats. He has congestive heart failure and must watch fat, sodium and sugar intake. He also has to weigh himself daily to ensure he isn’t retaining water. This scale looks ideal.

  19. Looks like a nice scale. Just the feature to estimates the calories you can eat per day to lose weight makes it seem worth upgrading from my current scale.
